Q: What’s the Best Season to Redesign My Landscape?

A: The common assumption is that Spring is the ideal season for landscaping redesigns and rebuilds. However, when planting trees, grass, shrubs and many plants, Fall proves to be the best season for landscaping projects because of the combinations of warm days, cool evenings and increased precipitation which helps establish new seeds. Another advantage you gain by planting on your property in the Fall is it will allow 6-to-8 months for your roots to become established before warmer months begin, weeds spring up less often and the soil’s temperature remains warm. Spring, however, is the best season for planting flowers and most gardens.
